SLCC'S LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Students communicate effectively.
- I feel that taking communications 1010 really helped my communication skills, especially with school. I am the type of person who likes to get every little detail possible and re-reading/asking if I'm confused with anything.
- Students develop quantitative literacies necessary for their chosen field of study.
- My math courses have helped me use examples from life to understand quantitative concepts. I have not picked my field of study yet but the courses will help me understand the math that I will need in any profession.
- Students think critically and creatively.
- All of my courses have helped with these skills, but I think my English classes have taught me the most. Last semester in my English 1010 course, I did a lot of different assignments that made me think creatively and critically.
- Students develop civic literacy and the capacity to be community-engaged learners who act in mutually beneficial ways with community partners.
- I think my History 1700 and Geography 1700 this semester will definitely expand my knowledge of this section of SLCC learning outcomes.
- Students develop the knowledge and skills to work with others in a professional and constructive manner.
- My Comm 1010 class helped me a lot with skills of working in a professional manner. I had a few different assignments that taught me more and I had to interview people in a professional manner.
- Students develop computer and information literacy.
- My Financial Literacy class fulfilled this section. It was my first college course so I learned all of the technical aspects of SLCC meaning: mypage, canvas, portfolios, etc. It also taught me different computer skills because everything we did was on computers.
- Students develop the attitudes and skills for lifelong wellness.
- My Fitness For Life Course this semester will hopefully expand my knowledge, even though I have learned lifelong wellness from classes from grade school.
